I've got a lot of res lost, but I don't remember and can't find the prestige formula.

I'm assuming that my res lost is a significant negative factor affecting my overall prestige. I'm trying to figure out if it's worth starting over as opposed to working past it all.

Also of note, since armor/shield damage no count towards ships damaged at 25% the rate of hull, the manual should be updated:
http://darkspace.net/index.htm?module=document.php&doc_id=1&chap_id=254&chap_name=5.9

...as it states that armor/shield damage does not contribute to ships damaged.

Just make a new account, besides, res lost is bound to reach super high heights if you play long enough.

I would never reccomend a reset account, as said above, just create a new account if you feel the need to start over, then when you cant take it anymore, you can fall back on your main account.

I have reset my account once a couple years back, i regretted it pretty quick.

Res lost is a mark of pride! Fought and didn't win but you didn't quit either. Or something. anyways it's not really a huge amount, don't sweat it.

Antra,

So you lost 1,423,955.99 pres.... so what?

For prospective I have lost 1,844,558.32 pres and Steveyk has lost 89,500,827.99 pres (top of the pres loss food chain). So don't despair.... it could be worse.

You're not doing that poorly -- your prestige puts you 486th in the rankings, but you're 764th in res lost, which means you're performing above average in terms of prestige gained per res lost. No reason to reset in my book.

LOL. Forget those unimportant stats.

My Damage to FF ratio stands at 5:1 .... shows that I'm an indiscriminate shooter.... LOL.

But I'm loving it!

Focus on the important stats!! Like your kill:death ratio.

Yea, look at my account rankings, compared to everyone else, i have a TON of negative prestige from dying, friendly fire, suicidal planet smacks, etc...

174th in prestige
194th in friendly fire
23rd in resources lost

Heh, guess I'll keep it. Res lost *does* detract from prestige, but looking at some other profiles it doesn't seem that I'm that bad off.

As for having lots of deaths but not a lot of res lost...what can I say? I like flying small ships. Maneuverability is where it's at.

That, and mines.

Only reset if you are absolutely sure. I reset from GA recently, and while I haven't looked back I know it's not for everyone.

Don't reset to wipe your res lost stats. Wipe it only if you don't give a damn about your pres and want the challenge of having to work up from nothing.

I do kind of want to see how good I could do on a clean profile, knowing what I know now. I'm so used to games that forbid alternate accounts that I never really considered it. Hmmmmmmmm.

Res lost is a mark of pride. It means you were willing to fight to the end, consequences be damned.

Or you're too stupid to run. Either one.
