Shipyarding to avoid death is a long standing exploit. Now gates act as shipyards when you go thru them (at least for now they do).
Question: Since they act as a shipyard, isnt gating to avoid death, only to spawn a new ship, as much an exploit as the shipyard exploit? Are the two the same?
It still seems to fall under using game mechanics in a way other than intended.
Mods? Have an answer? Can we see some policing of this if it is please? Ive only managed to get into two small battles in the last week, but each time I have, I've seen this worthless tactic being used by UGTO.

When will this be fixed? I find it destructing any form of tactis in the game. Every faction has like 4 spawn places in EACH system.

If it is the exploit I suspect it is, then it merely gets declared what it is, and thus it is illegal, and cant be done. That solves it until its fixed.
As far as combat goes anyways.

I've seen all factions do it, and it is rather detrimental to good combat. With a gate nearby, it doesn't matter if a faction has a shipyard or not, they can just rotate ships from the unblockable gate.
It is rather annoying.

ive seen that worthless tactic being used by kluth to not only by Ugto....we are not the only ones who are using the gates to avoid death

Everybody is exploiting the gate now, period.
And that's why we're having huge gate battles now. It's fun in a way.
About the only thing I hate abt these bugged gates are tranny rushing, spawning from any one of these gates.

Report is a bug! why because u cant prove it. If someone jumps into a sy to avoid death, u cant prov it. doesn't mather how much u try. Only way to solve this issue is by coding it. Time after time this proves right, if we can brake the rules, we do it. End of story.

Why would using a SY to avoid dying would be considered an exploit? If a planet is blockaded (which half the time they are in scen because of AI ships) then you can't use the SY to dock or spawn from.
The gate thing on the other hand.....yeah. All 3 factions have been doing it, and it makes MV combat pointless.

It does not matter which player or faction abuses this.
Please just fix it fast.

Well gating/SYing to avoid ship capture is basicaly the same thing yet apparently thats not against the rules so I wouldnt think it would matter =\

It's a bug causing a common and often used feature in the game to work like an exploit. Nah... it shouldn't be deemed illegal to gate (we do need to travel around, you know!!)
The exploit will end when the devs fix it. So leave it be till then... nothing much you can do. If you can't stand the bug, then take a vacation till the next patch. See ya!!

It is an exploit by the RoC, BUT with the blockade code, its not anymore since with a SY blockaded you can't.....well SY to avoid death.
Using a gate to do the same is no different then normally going through the gate to avoid the last 3% damage to your hull. I keep my use of it to a minimum, I hate spawning stations from them since the energy bug shows up when you do.
