Giving the UGTO torp cruiser its QST back?
That would imo make it get its unique feeling back rather then just being a slightly gimped AC. I'd even go as "far" as trading the flux wave for one as that particular weapon never actually makes a difference other then adding to FF stat.
maybe with a maximum 45 degree fiering arc to still make the normal torps being the primary damage dealers??

Well a fleet of TC's can easly take out a few stations, it dosnt need a QST on it, already powerfull enough as it is. Maybe if a Jr version of the QST is made and its called a ST, then that could posibly be passed off, shorter range, slower speeds, less dammage seens as you surgest for it to be put on a TC

Adding arcs isn't a trivial matter, unfortunately - its not a matter of "Arcs: 315-45" to set a Fore arc (though that'd be nice...). They're hard coded into the game and adding in sub-arcs would be a lot of work.
Not a bad idea to have more arc flexibility.. just unlikely given the time investment required.

Good idea! We'll call it... a torpedo!
In our weighting, core weapons are the equivalent of six torps. So you'd take a bit of a hit to your layout to be able to accommodate them...

oh hay why not put 30 QSTs on a scout and then have it have like 80 generat00rz and then UGTO can win and UGTO wont be saD?

if flowen right the TC can be an awsome ship. but like with other assualt class ships you need to keep your target to the front of you to do your most damage.

Speaking of torpedo
I notice almost all Assault type ships carry's a hell lot of torpedo
May i suggest lowering there numbers of launchers, and up the firepower of torpedo? (up the energy drain to match what we have now
I understand it is going to change balance since you got less chances to hit the target. My only point is, Torpedo always seems very powerful anti cap ship (look at any games you might want, most are like that)
SO in an effort to help reduce object counts, even thou its not much, maybe Change the system of torpedo and make sure it works just as same, just less torp fired
