WoW and EVE Online had forum errors like this. EVE's lasted a few days, WoW's lasted a week and a half. Ours got fixed within two days. I think you take minor errors a little too seriously.
Not to mention an issue with escaping characters doesn't cripple your ability to play .

Hi jack, plz don't misunderstand my post---
I enjoy darkspace.
I would love to see it thrive once again.
You can't really compare it to wow or eve cuz they have a massive player base behind them to work with and pay for servers, bandwidth and staff.
Gotta think of the business end of it also buddy, darkspace doesn't have that kind of capital to risk losing new players over something retarded like a bad first impression.
Should consider that before making unattractive changes and driving away potential players.
My post was intended to be constructive criticism, sorry if it was taken in any offensive manner.
Fantastic job getting this corrected in a timely matter, faustus.
edit: lol, the last part wasnt sarcasm, i had not realized it was still broke because i was posting from my blackberry anyway.. i'm sure youll fix it soon [ This Message was edited by: Riley on 2010-01-27 12:36 ]

You're not meant to know all the changes made =). There are always tweaks 'n' such done that the players are not aware of (that don't affect gameplay).

It's not a big deal, all it is is a change in text formatting that's causing an extra slash to get put in '//n//r' then when it gets parsed it misses the linebreaks and after it gets parsed its been stripped of one slash showing '/n/r' ect... It's tedius work to go through and find every little text input page to fix the problem and most are fixed, but it will take a bit more editing to sift them all out, so please be patient and we will fix it asap.

Not particularly. Someone is probably updating the posting/view php logic and it looks form the surface that some functions were removed or forgot to be replaced.
Although an update would be great. It would probably add expandability and greater functionality to the front end/web site.
But this would be a massive undertaking. From what I understand from chats from Shig and other devs years ago, the DS website uses a heavily customized version of phpbb. For an update you would have to port alot of code into a new version of phpbb. It could be done but it would be a serious endeavor, not for the faint of heart.
The website works fine as it is and doesn't really *need* an update but you do have to be careful what you tweak.
