firstly, is there a faction chat that spans all servers?
I think it would be very usefull for cordinating faction activitys , as it is now its hard to communicate with players in proc, cas, lac, sag etc.
usualy i just send to the mv room but then the filthy enemys can hear.

instead of a big MV chat room, GCQL could move you to a faction chat room when you pick your side. So you pick Kluth, you get moved to Metaverse:K'luth chat room. This would be a nice addition to the game and help players coordinate better. Would help UGTO and ICC out too.

you would have to type into the said chat for "global faction chat." Its no different than making your own really.

I like Starcommanders idea, creating a private room dose not work because newbies and randoms and anyone for that matter are not gonna join said room without being told about it so.....
A faction chat would put a end to ppl logging on and seeing no one in sag and logging, not knowng that everyone was in sol for example.

It seems like in its current state, players have to basically guess where people are across the different servers unless there's enough players to have it marked as something not...perfect. I suppose one could spam the metaverse channel with "WHERE ARE PEOPLE PLAYING", but one should consider having some sort of way of coordinating a faction between sectors.
If it was possible, autojoining a lobby channel for your faction, like you do for Metaverse in general would be a pretty acceptable workaround instead of adding more chat commands.
Of course, you could just tell people to coordinate their own chat channel instead of implenting it as a feature. (ps, this won't work)

An idea would be to run chat through the metaserver like all lobby chat(/say from in-game), then have three rooms automatically set by faction and only joinable via logging into the faction on a server... This would be global chat (like /say from in-game), but not shared with other players from other factions like metaverse chat.
p.s. it's a trap!

They could do what I do, which is to sort the Servers tab by population, checking the highest server's link on the Home page, seeing if any planets have been capped (if it's not Sag), and then joining it if planets are being capped.
Might not even want to check the server's link, just join the MV server with the highest pop.

This. Ragg used to set this up for the K'Luth then he left and no one uses it anymore.

yes it dose sort by the most populated even tho it doesn't show it......maybe it should show it again. Perfect, Med, high, full just doesn't cut it, its cute but really confusing for noobs. Just put the numbers back and everyone will know where all the action is at. [ This Message was edited by: Grand Admiral Starcommander on 2010-01-03 07:42 ]
