Can we pls get the servers to list how many players r in each of them? From what ive heard it used to list the number of players, and it seems like alot of players wish it still did. Server populations shown as Perfect (low), medium, etc., just isnt specific enough for me seeing how i try to go into the most highly populated server.
thanks

It would be nice. But they won't. it seems they are trying to hiding the exact number of people who play. Who knows why but it's only a theory.

i doubt it. there is logic behind the change, which i wont go into here.
i aint saying you wont EVER see population numbers again, its just not likely to be any time soon.

Of all the changes made to DS, this one is one I really don't see the sense of. At the very least is there anything to be lost in putting the actual numbers alongside the descriptions?

for those to stupid to read or blind to see.
If ya'll have such an issue with the game that u can only complain, then just leave. Come back again when numbers are on the servers again.
And if thats what you do, I pray that they never put them back on.
Grow up people.

The reason why doing this isn't too hard to figure out from various point of views. While I dislike not seeing it, I agree with not seeing it, at least for the foreseeable future until a few things change.
This should stay the way it is, and DS has made the right decision in making it this way.

They wont put the actual numbers of players in each server because the numbers are so embarrassingly low that it will scare away potential players as they will have to wonder why so few people are in game, hope this helps

Hey, dunno how hard it would be to code...
BUt I think It would be cool to display something like the combined "average" Prestige in the server as well...
To get an idea what level people are playing at in that particular server...
Or... that might just be a waste of time and resources that could be better served by removing things like Cargo Resource bug, and related bug such as building a platform and then not having anyetc..etc...tda

when there use to be numbers of players listed on each server guess what happened......
a player would see the numbers they like on a patricular server and join that sever only because thats where everyone or most all the rest of the players were.....
so when the scenerio server showed the highest number of players at any given time nobody really played in the MV because the numbers were so low.
now if you eneter a server you only really need to know if its busy or not
if more of you become core players of your faction aka players who are in the game often then you will make it busy
the exact number shown should not be any concern... be a leader not a follower

There's also a screenshot of the game posted on various sites, for advertising purposes, that clearly shows someone saying "omg lag" in chat.
Yeah, that's not good.

One of the reason is that you could exactly calculate the number of enemies in the server, takes away the element of surprise.

But if you a more user/newbie friendly game you shouldn't make them bounce from server to server looking for people.
It was only when the numbers got big did people join in and make huge battles.
And yes I was one of those people unless I seen X amount of people I didn't go in because I knew it was a waste.
And don't tell me you all didn't do it as well because you would be lying. [ This Message was edited by: --Daedalus-- on 2009-10-19 06:10 ]

I log in to play the game. I could care less about numbers. If there aren't any humans on, oh well. I can play vs AI, bomb and cap the planets of those who deem it too much a waste to come in and defend against it, build planets, cap yellows.
Call me a liar. W/E. Numbers of players in a server have NEVER detered me from playing. EVER.
This is a stupid, stupid debate.
