Could there be a limit on how often you can send out a distress signal so it limits the spamming in MV. There seems to be some people that cannot control their keyboard mashing and just go distress crazy trying to call in AI's.

Is this possible?

Or how should they spammers be delt with?

players tend to send distresses so many times cause they want to attract some ai attention most of he time. if the ai responded better to distresses then maybe this wouldnt be such a problem. But i agree that the number of distresses that can be made per 30 seconds or so should be limited. Its not fun to see "spacegatekid08 is being attacked" listed 36 times all the way down ur screen

Spamming is more of a placebo... the ai start reacting at the first distres..

Spamming only confuses the AI, they are less likely to react to this.

Could we maby just get the ability to give AI orders? I remember we used to be able to set a "Capture this planet" or "Attack this player" function could it be returned some how, but set to specific AI ships rather than a generalized target? For instance if you don't have anybody else on your faction in the MV the ability to tell some combat ships to follow you would be good way to promote people to stay and maby even find some combat.

AI automatically reply to player distresses unless they are already with another player, there's no way to make them respond better.

Maybe we could have a seperate chat box so we can actually say something without having to scroll all over try to find our messages with all the distress calls flying around from AI, planets and players

I like choices.
Toggle on/off filters AI in F2 each for allies and enemy AI
Toggle on/off chat filters for system, planets, combat, and ai messages.
Choices are good.

actually fellow players sometimes sending a distress call will alert other players to check your position .... such as when a player find the enemy in deep space or after tracking an enemy retreating they cant check the distress and find your position allowing for an easy pinpoint of the players location not always to call ai but to let other players know where you are and what you may need

seeing 1 distress call may not be enough since players are chatting in game for many reasons but seeing 5 or 6 distress calls or more if its an emergency will attract attention to check it out ......
may appear annoying at first but if you answer the call most likely you will find combat prez to be made when you get there or maybe supply prez

either way i dont see a problem with spamming distress calls if in the end that means more prez

Expanding on this, besides the distress calls. I'd love to see the implimentation of a flare type call for players only.

I.E

Shift-F ro Ctrl-F.

"Krim sends a pulse beacon of his current location"

to which hitting H would allow you to target my ship and come to my location (WITHOUT AI) which is quite desireable in many many situations.. this would allow players only to lock on a specific player and go to thier location.

I agree. Sometimes you don't want the AI to come.

Asked Doran 2 months ago for that, Spent 20 minutes this patch trying to find an option to toggle it but they had removed AI completely.

P.s. buttons not the actual ship icons.

Can player distresses be a different color then planet/AI distress? I have just tuned out all the dark yellow text on my screen because so much of it is spam, I wouldn't see a player distress unless they sent it 2 or 3 times.

Here is a good one.
have Distresses lines start one Tab to the right.

Might sound creasy, and yesit is. but you will notice the difference quickly.

heck you can even improve on that idea. instead of distresses, have all AI messages be tabbed on to the right....

-3 solid euro cents.
