I know many of you are international, but the ISS has been making flybys over most of the USA (as it has the last two July 4-9 weeks). It is readily visible and pretty cool to see.

If you go here you can lookup visibility times:

http://spaceflight1.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/cities/skywatch.cgi?country=United+States

Use the box at the bottom left for other countries:

http://spaceflight1.nasa.gov/realdata/sightings/index.html

If it's your first time seeing it, I advise only trying for the 4-6 minute flybys (they arc over more of the visible sky for a longer period), since the <1-2 minute can be difficult to catch.

I ran down to campus to get a wide open view. Fricken awesome! That thing was BRIGHT and really going pretty fast. Very noticable, although other passers-by didnt see it unless we told them to look for it.

Not just the ISS, but all the other cool satelites

Why did you just notice that now, you can see it a few times a night if you just look out for the bright spot passing over your head

I live in a big city - I'm lucky if I can see a star, ever
