A major problem has been ignored in this new patch, weak planet defence.
You will not keep people playing Darkspace with this latest release, once free play is over players will be gone.
Why do you continually ignore what the players want in this game?

they did bring back scenario servers, so that's a plus. but it comes with AI, so that's a downer.
we need the homesystems back though, in the saggitarius server preferebly.

Jbud: "tweaked" does not neccesarily mean "better". Plus the fact that "better" is a matter of opinion.
I can't say personally if it's better, worse, or about the same, though, as I haven't paid much attention to it yet.

They added more weapons to them, they have taken a step forward and in this case, tweaked does mean better, just not quite there yet, next patch will likely be even better

We don't ignore what players want.. but you just can't do whatever the players ask, because often they only have their interests in mind. Quite often, they will actually make the game less fun just so they can win based upon their playing style.
We try to take this in account when making changes... you are very unlikely to see any dramatic changes in balance anytime soon... instead changes are going to be far more incremental.

More of what weapons? Point defense? Missiles? Cannons? Torpedoes?
I suddenly realized that at least one type of UGTO Defense Base fires Particle Cannons - not sure if it's mirrored on the other factions. I'm not completely sure if it's a new development, but I never noticed it before.

Wait, no homesystems... What the hell?
Alright, so have you gone completley insane and just doing what ever sounds fun at the time with Darkspace, or is there an actual reason for taking out something that has ALWAYS been a staple of Darkspace, something that has been a goal to capture for several years?

Except nobody went to homesystems.
Ever.
Honestly, getting rid of the homesystem servers was a plus. Now just get rid of the rest of the MV.

I'm pretty sure they have gone insane. I've noticed a bug that is still present and a bug that is completely new to me.
The first is a bug involving the jumpdrives:
Occassionally (more like often), when you jump, the jump either goes in a different direction, or takes you to your destination then flings you backward several thousand GU.
The second bug involves the Kluth cloak:
Quite often, when I pull a ship - be it one in my garage or a fresh ship - the ship will be semi-transparent as if the cloak were activated. I can't fire weapons, but I can jump, and the ship has a signature as if it were uncloaked and can be easily targetted by enemies.
Edit: the homesystems were more often visited both when the MV was one system per server and when the MV was all on one server. Still, it doesn't make that much sense to completely remove them. [ This Message was edited by: Nexus01 on 2009-06-23 03:04 ]

When they had the homesystems on other server almost no one used them, i gues their a waste of space and resources atm when their not the same server. That in mind, i do hope they get back the homesystems but just on the same server.

As far as the home systems go... Most of us are familiar with the transfer gate setup, although there isn't anything that informs any of the factions that their home system is being over run, leaving all players on one server completely ignorant of what's going on in the next one. Anyone notice a HUGE GAP here?

Not everyone is flying cruisers or above.
And there is one defense structure that is currently broken. The interdictor:
With this jewel gone planet defenses will lose effectiveness against enemy ships since they can jump in close and out, the defense bases will have less time to do damage.
That in addition that you will have to plan how to build the planets, i can immagine a shipyard planet to not have a lot of defenses but you can try counter that with platforms.
And i have yet to hear yer tactical opinion of platforms..
3 solid euro cents.

Great home systems have gone thats a bonus, now make the left over server gates only be spawn points and not as a way of players to escape a death and instant log to a safe area
Make them instant respawn you at same gate when you enter them
