ICC's faction-unique device. Which of the ICC players use it, what are people's opinions on it, etc.
Personally I think they're paling in comparison to the K'Luth and UGTO devices (Cloak Device and Flux Wave respectively), and wouldn't mind seeing it changed somewhat.
Missiles are ICC's forte, they already have pulse beams to take those down, and fighters receive the same treatment. It guzzles energy, too, making it a somewhat... difficult to use device for the ICC.

As the battle escalates to large stations slugging it out at long ranges, the pulse wave ocassionaly shines, although its range is a bit... limited. A single escort destroyer with 6 pulse beams would do a far superior job. That being said, it would be nice if ICC could have a special missile type. But the indiscriminate factor definitely decreases the device's value.

i would suggest making the raduis bigger and decrease the energy drain and reload time this would make it a far more effective device wich would match up to ugto flux wave and luth cloack.

the pulse wave device is very rarely used by faction players because of these draw backs. A very long recharge rate, small radius effect, even smaller damage. When used it might knock out some missles within its small radius for an instant then the recharge rate lets you get hit by 10 times more than what it stoped, so in combat it is rarely used and is considered a waste of time. The only way to improve its effectiveness is to make the recharge rate the same as the pluse beams or regular lazors or make the wave do more damage as an emp field to enemy ships after all ICC are supossed to be a defensive faction so we are used to short range.

When I played, I used it all the time. It helps a ton when you are suiciding into a heavily defended planet cluster to get a kill

I personally wouldn't mind the extra slot for a generator, on most ships. I see the benifit of the device, and of not being able to switch around all the equipment, but many of the ships are harder to reach their full potential with, although that may mean they are more balanced.

One idea I've pondered for awhile is if, in addition to destroying missiles/fighters, it also gives any ship inside its radius a minor shield recharge. Would help emphasize ICC's defensiveness and give them a good motivation for teamwork.
Could also possibly stand to have its energy requirements tweaked down a bit, maybe. Always seems like if I use it once I get drained rapidly where before I was managing to break even, or at least drain slow enough to fight for awhile.

To be honest, the pulse wave is useless now with Pulse Beams, they can do the same ammount of work if unless you're an idiot pilot sitting still. Needs a revamp, joe.

Lets review:
- Pulse Wave short range
- Pulse Beams longer range
- Pulse Wave stops all projectiles and fighters in the range
- Pulse Beam hits only one target per shot
- Pulse Beam only defends against Fighters and Missiles, (not torps or projectiles)
- Escort Dessie with Pulse Beams offer more effective defense than a Pulse Wave on a dread
Pulse waves and pulse beams are working as intended. Nothing is wrong with either.
The pulse wave are ment as an emergency defense against incoming projectiles of all kinds.
Pulse beams only defend against Missiles and Fighters. Those torps and projectiles still smack into you.
Team work helps expand the abilities of the entire fleet. Escourt Dessies standing picket at the edge of the fleet can protect the crusiers and dreads from missiles and fighters.

Er, since when have Pulse Waves destroyed torps and cannon shots?

They used to destroy them a long time ago, but not anymore.
While yes, they are working as intended, Tael, the argument is more that they aren't as usefull as the other two faction's unique devices. UGTO gets Flux Wave and K'luth get the AHR. Both of those have vastly more effect on the battle than the Pulse Wave does.
As it is, most ICC would probably gladly give it up for another reactor or something.

This is exactly what I was going for.
