Seggested Change in the Orders system |

Hey I think that when you press the button to give an order that a small pop up with a list of avalable ships to send the order to
OR
Assign AI a number usable by # instead of @ so that you could make
a usable script like /order [Name/#AI number] [Order] [Order option]
like:
/order #XLII Reload Shigernafy
or
/order #XIXL Capture Exathra
or for a human
/order @163560 Defend Exathra
Just a few ideas i had i wanted to contribute

as far as i believe you can order ships of a LOWER rank than you?
am i right? cos if so jbuds idea is a good one

I like the idea.
I've always wanted to have a dropdown menu when you right click on a ship's diamond, similar to EvE's with various options. i.e - Jump To, Order, Whisper

Fantastic idea actually.
Now if only I could see all the ships in a system without repeatedly going to F2.

...I was going to make some kind of joke about turning DS into a clone of EvE, but the right-click thing is actually a fairly reasonably suggestion, really. The contact list might cause a clutter issue, though.

good suggestion, hope this gets some attention.
would be more like the old order system.
Click on a player, select order, click on target.

I like this idea alot, i run into the issue all the time about having to order almost all other ships that i only want 1 ship to follow, and having to tell all the other ships that it was a false alarm. i really hope this idea gets implemented!

well atm the orders system has been COMPLETELY removed cuz of orders spam...
I say that we make the orders system like i seggested and add a limit to the amount of orders you can send in a period of time...
like say you can send a total of 5 orders in a 10 minute period or something

extra work, but an orders menu is probably the way to go
orders button (lets say... Ctrl+O)
-Orders [first layer, what you want done]
.Attack
.Defend
.Move
.Repair
.Build
--Class [second layer, which group of ships order's sent to]
..Scout
..Frigate
..Destroyer (etc.)
---Member [third layer, who's acutally getting the order]
...All (sends it to everyone)
...Ship XI
...Ship XII
...Ship XIII
...Ship XIV (etc.)
so for example, pressing CTRL+O (brings up the menu), and then press 1 (attack), 4 (cruiser class), 1 (all cruisers) will order all the cruisers in the area to attack your target. CTRL+O, 1, 8, 3 could order Engineer XXVI to go build your target, or whatever.

Perhaps the rate at which you can issue orders is dependent on your ship size. The Command Dreads and Stations in particular would be able to do it a lot faster.

Sounds good Doran so long as the order window is small...or transparent to reduce clutter on the game screen.
