So we did the tests, and more need to be done but heres the baseline thusfar. The test was to see how long between when the cloak was activated to when the ship could no longer be targeted.
Krill: 100gu all the way out to 1000gu - 10+ second cloak time, ECM had no effect.
1000gu+, with ECM 8 seconds. Without ECM, 10 seconds. This was in the dead of space with no local ECM/ECCM fields present.
Now the real problem with this is that the cloak animation and signature both are finished within a few seconds. At 1kgu at 0sig, I would think that a dread would be untargetable, but can see how something that massive would still be targetable. The animation being instant however... that could use some fixins.
More tests to come during the week.

Good lord all I'm asking for is that the animation match the time. I said a dozen times in f chat the timer is fine, just let us have some kind of frickin measurement of what the timer is... as it is right now the only way you know when your timer is finished is when they stop shooting you.

I've had abit of problem with the timers matching the actrual targeting as well. While runing tests on small ships yesterday, using the frig and the dressy:
1.) decloake WAS close to instant, the second i press '3'(i had cloak grouped to '3' for faster control), my weapons were online.
2.)Cloaking with ECM, the timer didnt seem to match when they stoped being able to target me. Was not sure if this was due to lag, but the BD i as straffing fired 2 more salvos at me after timer hit zero, not the CLs, the cannons too.

I always watch my signature. As you cloak it counts down to zero. Once it hits zero I know I am good.

ive found out cuting ur eccm on and off will make any kulth ships withing 500-600 gu came be seem for a few seconeds dont know if its ment to be like that i disorved it afteier i shut my eccm off to conserver energy aftier i did it i was albe to see smartien for a few seconeds.

They have MUCH higher armour now, and we have a timer on the activation of ECM/ECCM. Believe me, it's no great shakes.

Thats the other thing Smartin, and something I mentioned to Jack & was dismissed as "Dreads are still targetable at 0 sig to a certain distance." I was able to be targeted long past 0sig, even out past 1kgu.
