No he Jumped away Screaming "I'm Bugged! I'm Bugged!!" and as I was asked to "Referee" I ruled it a Win for Borgie.

You lost a few times to me Goth.. You kept leaving the duel, I'd go to you, and you'd leave again..

wasn't when a duel was declared, any kind of jump drive usage was considered a 'white flag'?
not to mention it breaks teh RoC, under Mutual Prestige gain.

Any use of Jumpdrives? Some people actually short jump (1k,2k) gu to then turn around and do something, so I would hope that the jump drive is usable, except for actually running away/getting out of the opponents game sight from jumping

Just had a little chitchat with staff. Henceforth, all duels will have to abide by these minimum rules:
1. All duels are to the death. There are NO EXCEPTIONS to this rule, including arc bugs, disconnects, lag, preference, mercy, or impending death. Someone not dying in a duel will be considered an exploit, with at least one of the parties involved being punished for mutual prestige gain.
2. Duels cannot be called off once there is hull damage. The moment a hull is less than 100%, prestige has been earned, and it would thus be an exploit to quit. While only armor/shields are being hurt, a duel can be called of by mutual consent. One person running away does not count.
3. During a duel, no player may be more than 5000gu from the other player, whether by flying or jumping. Whoever is considered "fleeing" once the 5000gu barrier is crossed will be considered as having abandoned the duel and thus having exploited.
4. Spectators should not come within 5k gu of the duel. For this reason, you should choose a duel location that is off the beaten path, so you won't be stumbled upon.
You are free to agree to additional limiters on these rules, such as a smaller distance limit, weapons limitations, etc. However, nothing less restrictive than these rules is allowed.
Penalties for exploiting a duel are assessed case-by-case, but a minimum rule is prestige loss equal to the ships involved for the exploiting parties.

To my knowledge before now the "To the Death" Rule has been the only rule concerning Duels. Recent events and the current increase in popularity of Duels has lead us to consider, and enact a few more guidelines. True most are, what in the past have been "Unwritten Rules" mostly just agreed on by the dueling players before the Duel.

okay so since the distance theres now a distance effect now of 5000 GU i technically didnt exploit in the duel with crim thus i jumped 5K away so i can get a good head start, from now on all duels with me will be 2K GU starting distance since most weapons at level 10 go as far as 1900 GU and no close jumping either it doesnt give the opponent time to react, so whateva

I dunno about you, but I often have plenty of reaction when I get close jumped. Just... dont' suck and don't panic.
