i have an idea for a new way to mod your ship...
you mod it before you spawn it. you get a window with the slots that ship has were they are (arcs) and what can be put there.
when you open this window you get the standard loadout, cannon slots beam slots torps missles ext ext, and oyu have a list of things avalable on the planet on the side with a scroll bar. you can drag and drop items to the slot and if you are trying to put a cannon in a beam slot it wont change.
this will fix the pd ed issues and give a new way to mod... one that is beter so you can mod certain arcs a spicific way or place things in a spot insted of guesing were it will endup
items will have stats under them for example,
standard armor:
protection: (hp)
resistance to beams:
resistance to balistic:
active shields:
protection:
regen rate:
power use:
emmision: (sig rating)
fusion torpedo:
refire rate:
range:
damage:
ammo:
ie drive:
power: (speed per ie drive)

effectiveness:

Power use:
ecm:
range:
masking: (what it lowers your sig by)
power use:
ext ext
who thinks this is a good idea
