Getting rid of the bomber class of ships |

Many players are sick and tired of the current set-up, so i figured that why
don't the game devs just remove teh bomber class all together and make
it so that normal ships can damage structures by targeting them like a
ship, which they already can and allow the building to take damage as a
combat ship fires its regular missles and torps, cannons i believe cant
penitrat the atmosphere (of planets with them) so they can just be
excluded it would be fun in my opinion to see a large fleet blasting a
planet to hell. this way planets with better defense rating or shipyard
planets (should make it so sy planets have a higher starting pop i suggest
80) if anybody is a fan of Andromeda-the TV series- you should know what
i am talking about.
This idea would also allow anti-planet missles to be of some use now, decrease their range and speed to allow for a more intresting battle, I hope some body agrees with me cause this is a really good idea.
p.s. gauss cannons should have a charge ability so they can be more like snipe weapons, the weapon charges based on your energy reserves. the greater the charge the more damage but less range.

I think it is a very good idea as the way it is a lot of people are spending 90% of their time building and re-building again and again.
I have actually seen a couple of people attacking planets with normal ships and they were destroying things it was just a whole lot hard and more time comsuming.
Also I would like to see all supply ships with the ability to be able to cloak, but i guess that is another thread all together

uhhhhh no, ship guns damaging buildings seems kind of redicilous to me
maybe reduction of bomb effectiveness yes, but bombers should stay.

That is not possible at the moment... 2 ways to destroy structures: Infantry set to Raze, or bombs(or Anti-Planetary missles)

please understand i dont usually reply to threads like these why ive been around darkspace since 2002 and there are always threads where people think this is unbalanced and this is wrong and that is wrong go to eve-online same there.
there is a old saying "you can please some of the people some of time ,most of the people most of the time ,but you cant please all the people all the time.
with this being said bombing is legal yes ive nuetron up intill last night since comming back to ds i have lost more pres due to changes in the combat pres and such i should have been to fa along time ago but i didnt focus on pres this is how i see it if i want to bomb i bomb, if i want to build i build, if i want to supply i supply, if i want to fight i fight I PAY FOR MY SUBSCRIPTION NO ONE ELSE, SO I PLAY THE WAY I WANT AS LONG AS ITS PART OF THE GAME ! i am one of the few pilots that fly modded ships not hybrids (such as the missle dred with all fusion torps) i neut if i dont plan to rebuild or some one in the fleet isnt going to build thats just how it is and ill mirv if i plan to rebuild so i get both pres for bombing and building NOW IF ANYONE HAS A PROBLEM WITH THIS ,,,,,,,,,,,TOUGH ,,,,,,,,TILL YOU START PAYING FOR MY SUBSCRIPION DONT BE SO ARROGANT AS TO TELL ME NOT TO USE A LEGAL GAME MECHANIC TO BUILD MY ACCOUNT

Another idea is that if we do have bombs we can bomb but only completly damage the building and not destroy them, this would help lazy people toonly repair the building and engineer ships to get pres for repairing and rearranging the building instead of a complete wipe out.

we need defensive satilites so that combast ships HAVE to clear the way for bombers, then everyone gets pres

nOw planetary defence bases will just get fired at but ICC MD's and CD's like the planets do right now... won't need combat shisp to take htem down...
all this does is delay the enevitable...
Bombing will not be the way it should be tilll the damage radius and damage threshhold is reduced to a lower level...
I remember when you actually had to mount a Scanner! it was the only way to target the buildings on the planet so you could actually bomb anything...

bombers should if, left ingame be given only defensive weapons so they can't be used as combat ships like the ugto bomber 7 torp slots its a bit much for a bomber.
