How is a scout aloud to get away with tractoring alot of ships into the planet?
hes tractrored me twice into little haven, Snoopdog, polaris and a few others..
isnt this against RoC or something.. he just comes in and tractors us and jumps back out again..

Actually it isnt...Josef (A player you probably dont know)Did the exact same thing back in the older versions. Can get a bit annoying yes but afaik it isnt against the RoC because its a basic stealth tactic since the player themselves technically arent benefiting from it pres or point wise.

Like Reaper said, tractoring is a perfectly viable and tactical tactic used by players of Darkspace. It does not benefit the tractorer other than destroying the tractee which would happen in combat anyways.

Tractors are kind of borked, allowing for insane tractor speed. Will probably be fixed in 1.484. Dictors on planets solve this problem btw.

Although, if you let a little scout tractor you, you need to pay more attention to your ship.

As long as you try to avoid a planet, unless they equip themselves with an insane amount of tractors, you usually can easily get away from being tractored into a planet.

nim on his own was fine, having an assault scout running around with him was the annoying part. jump away from the planet and u get a load of torpedoes from something too fast to hit...
pay attention to your ship. nim had to run the entire dictor field to get to you, you had plenty of time.

You guys are making me want to start tractor scouting again.
I'm only 1 tractor kill short of 80 - should I go for it?

Shouldn't there be smaller ship on patrol protecting larger one anyway? In all real life wars battleships are protected by small frigates and submarines and tanks are protected by jeeps. What this game need is the ability to once again assign the mission of projecting larger ships, automaticaly given if enemy forces are present in the same sector.
BTW You should get good EXP for every ship you stop form jumping with your dictor field too...then people will once again use dictors.
I'm out.
