Hey all..
Was in beta with the usuall crew Smartin, red dragon etc. and crimson thought it wld be cool to unload a *?@~!!*%load of Inf on me.. so he did. and 3 seconds later i was put to spawn menu.. so i unloaded another combat dread.. but what i saw was pretty whacked. I saw myself but with the red Kita targetting Reticle.. so i jumped to my cloned self and he opened fire on me.. and with some hefty beating and he is own idioting behaviour my cloned crashed into Sag hotha.. lol was this ment to happen? u capp a ship and it goes out killin u?

apparently what happens is if you cap a ship, it'll stay around and fight till there's no enemies nearby then'll jump out

Captured Enemy ships immediately become friendly. They are AI controlled. Once Captured:
1. If Jumpdrive is charged, procede to nearest Jumpgate or Shipyard. Decommissioned.
2. If Jumpdrive is NOT charged, defend area until it is, then procede with #1.

Note that when a ship becomes captured, it is not renamed. Theoretically, you could capture it, then capture it back, and you have a duplicate of yourself loitering around. As far as I know, this has not been attempted.

a captured ship stays in game as an AI ship. Dark Space AI being as it is, it usually doesn't get a chance to pwn anyone.

ok with the rules u stated... if its Jump drive is charged proceed to nearest JG... well if its dictored.. it just stays and defends.. or in my case crash into a planet lol!.
I Also wouldnt mind testing with someone on BETA this monday (around 4pm GMT) if we can recapp captured ships.. so if i could have 1 friendly on my side and a enemy to capp my ship.. and then recapp back (while dictored) i wldnt mend testing it out... see what happens.. after all BETA is for testing.. so if anyone could make it please let me know. thankyou.
1 question.. Say i capp an enemy ship. does that ship instantly have a green targetting reticle or is it enemy to both sides?
lets test this stuff out guys......

Actually I remember doing this exact thing once myself on newbie server, I was sitting in orbit around a planet building in an engi when I got close-jumped by transport who dumped inf on me, couldn't load from planet because he filled my hold, eventually I got capped but since the planet had a dictor the engi hung around (couldn't accomplish #1 because JD was treated as though it was uncharged I think) so I came back and re-capped myself, had a good laugh until the engi suddenly lit up it's engines and rammed a planet . Quite fun to have a clone for target practice.

when u recapped it did its targetting reticle turn green yeh? Also couldnt you gain extra prestige doing that.. say erm lets see. a player capps my ship... it turns red and its dictored.. i jump to it take its hull damage down to 1% and recapp it... wouldnt u get extra prestige for doing that? or when u recapp u dont get prestige back?
