Lag fix anytime soon? |

The lag problem is getting out of hand.
I signed on to K'Luth yesterday, saw that there were 11 people on. Impressive, but 2 systems away, so they shouldn't be causing lag.
I get my bomber out to help them. I jump to the gate...
I get killed by Venus.
While I was in Bernard system.
I have to assume it was lag, because the video was jumpy, and I WAS NOWHERE NEAR THAT PLANET. I lost 300 pres right there.
I sign on today.
9 people on. A little less, and they're busy in Luyten. Wait, 2 of them are near me... my god.
Planet defenses swarm, their missiles swarm, enemies show up, my video card freezes and my comp crashes.
So that second one was a little me, but this is just crazy! I can't play under these conditions (except as ICC because they only have 4 people on when there are 35 people in the MV).
I'd like an answer please... if something is in the works I'll stay, but until then, you won't see me in DS. It's just not worth it.

uh jumpy video/freezing vid card isnt net lag, thats low fps/ too much strain on your card (waits to get corrected), might try turning your detail settings down.
net lag's when ships shift position and leave trails when they do

Okay, that explains the second thing.
But what about me crashing into Venus? Was that a bug, then? Or was that me too?

you can do a couple of things to help lag or graphic issues.
The sliders in the setup otpion,
Ship trials 40%
Missile trials 1%
Explosions 1%
in game type the following
/focus 1000 (This draws only the objects within that distance)
/bps 40000 (this helps lag issues)

Focus has nothing to do with drawing objects, it keeps objects within the amount up-to-date.
Also, BPS has to do with a net connection.
If you are looking to improve your FPS, upgrade your drivers.

I agree with Makani......I had the same problem too and I lost my supply ship over that.......I was following NO7, while he was bombing......i lagged so much that i could not do anything.....and doran I am just letting you know my settings are as low as you can........I even turn off anything that is running on my computer.......I am not complaining just informing the staff that there is a lag issue.....I don't care about the ship or prestiage I have lost.........it is just that I won't go and play until things are fixed and I know that staff are working on it.........I hope that everything will be fixed soon so I can play with all my fellow DS ppl.

LAG is related to a multitude of reason's
Sometimes, there IS lag in/around DS, but often, there is none
I know, this fact is not new to most of you, and will not help you out of it
but still...
Not all the time, DS//Palestar is "guilty"

Very true. I live in the EU, default 150~ ping to PaleStar, I can't get lower due to the trans-atlantic hub. But I still manage to play fine, with little to no lag.

Because we all know Darkspace is so graphic-intensive, I doubt many people will have fps lag with this game.
