Ok I know im still new here, but im offering an outsiders perspective I suppose.

I have a few problems with the Metaverse as far as balance is concerned and i was wonder if anyone has brought it up.

Ok here it goes.

-Resources

Everytime I have logged into the metaverse I have for the most part have no need to worry about getting resources. As most of them are in the high hundred thousands to millions.

I dont like that, I like to have to compete with others to grab hold of needed resources.

With resource production so high...why even have them? And i feel like there is a big dead zone between the newbieserver and the MV as most people are flying about in dreads and its not a very friendly (game wise) enviroment for people who cannot continue on the newbie server.

Its one of the reasons why i like the newbie server as its more competitive. And the current resource production is needed as its difficult to get a planet fully built up and even more of a challenge to get anything bigger than a frigate.

My Solution:

Make it a challenge to field the resources to bring up captial ships. They are not all that strong when you have cookie cutter designs and you know your competition has an equal number.

Make it so you can hurt the other side logisticly by capturing a valuable resource planet.

I mean you Cap one planet, its no big deal you cap it back and rebuild. But if you MIRV a mod planet...you hurt your enemies support. I would like to see more ways of subverting the other sides.

-Bombing

Ok i know this is a dead horse topic. And I know its a beaten horse.

-Jump gates and territory

Ok freedom of movement is a good thing, however its not so good when you can move everywhere unchallenged. IE: Lone bomber flies into the heart of a controled territory and bombs planets...bleh...

A suggestion.

Give engies in space objects like gate turrets or something to create a border zone. Have them act as stationary gun platforms that have like a 1k gu dictor field and while a enemy ship is within that zone, they could get eaten up by the turrets.

Also to inspire more team work in Long Jumps and make sup ships more valuable. Cut the Jump Drives fuel down. Its another feature in which you have so much of something that you dont have to even think about it.

-Construction

This is another unbalance I cant find myself to agree with in which it doesnt matter if you slow build or fast build you loose prestige due to the extreme loss in prestige from scrapping to prevent sabatoge.

Lets keep the prestige loss for scrapping....however...please give enough prestige to counter-act the loss to make it worth it.

As it stands as a new player I want nothing to do with it as it will impede my progress. And its unfortunate that it is seen as it is now and not an important logistical importance.

Which again ties back to what i said abotu the avaliblity of resources....there is so much of them you really dont have to worry about resources so the planets are not specialised.

Finally, personally. I find Meta Verse really boring. Its either bomb with the biggest or best ships...or bleh...and Im playing on the newbie server more as its fun because its competitive, even though Im not getting any credit for it now.

More as i am able to continue to play.

Hi!

The K'Luth fraction is just recovering from massive MIRVing,
so much, that sometimes SY does not spawn a ship, because
there not enough - say - cyrometals.

Free movement and boring MV: sneak around, and you can find
many unprotected planets. Also, you might bag a lone engineer
or extractor.

----
As for balance, I though that the UGTO ships are too strong.
They are strong, but when the bugs (ie: K'Luth) gang up on you,
it is needed.

Still, going to hunt with an uggie assault scout in newbie feels
somewhat unfair to me - though I do it also

Bye:
