So now the MV has turned into this? Hopping factions to use scouts and waste "friendly" planets? You know who you are, and I don't need "screenies" to prove it...cool....The_Mole...etc. You can't win by any other means, instead by using dirty tricks? Where's a Mod when you need one?
The RoC let's you do this, but c'mon!
If this continues this game will lose a dedicated (and paying) customer. And I'm sure more will follow my exit.

I see no problem with shopping or hopping.
It's espionage and sabotage that really make the game unrealistic. Like people who go undercover with several different names asking systematically for all the mod planet names. And a few hours later, one logs back on to find that each mod planet has been leveled, and no other planets in the vicinity have been touched. Somewhat too systematic to be considered in my book to be fortuitous coincidence.
The worst part is that one cannot prove anything, because asking for mod planets is a totally innocent question.

Hopping and shopping are allowed...
Sabotage isnt though. Screenshots, and im sure one of the mods will alert an admin too it.

I guess this is easy and acceptable....change your name, faction hop, turn everything off in a "friendly" system, then tractor asteroids or bomb from a scout.
Thanks cool and The_Mole (whoever you are at this moment)! Thanks for the new tactics tips!

Thats easily the best looking Praetorian Wolves Sig I've seen so far.
NOTHING wrong with "Faction Hopping" IMO. Sabotague has always been a thorn in our sides (ALL 3 Factions sides), fortunately those that do it usually aren't around for long.

Cool (@91454) and The_Mole (@119635) are both still named the same
It is annoying to see players faction hop everyday and watch them play for the other side though (some players does it more than once a day)

Sabotage is a bannable offence
RoC 3.3.a
Backstabbing/Sabotage/Spying/Griefing
Description: A member of a team intentionally firing on teammates, bombing/scrapping planet resources, and/or giving intelligence to the enemy to the detriment of the team.
Why Its an Exploit: In DarkSpace, team damage is always considered on. Thus, the ability for a player to attack his teammates for no other reason than to disrupt play (or to play saboteur) cannot be easily addressed. In addition, the game design does not provide for the elements of spying or sabotage.
Elaboration: People who do this solely to disrupt the game are the foremost targets of this rule. In other games, this is often called griefing, or is caused by grief players.

I hope when I started I didn't break any rules cause I "hopped" factions alot cause I wanted to see all the ships and their capabilities to a point and finally settled for the 'luthian ships...

Bouncing around Factions to "Check them out" for the purposes of seeing what they can do to help you decide on a faction of choice is ok. Its those that faction hop with the purpose of causeing trouble on purpose then bouncng back to thier original faction to cause said trouble...
Tha'ts what is against the rules...

I know Val, but I also know (having banned players for it) why we rarely do......It's often hard to prove.

If you are in, or viewing the system at the time someone starts to scrap or dissable planets it tell you as a general message. If you see that just report em, that stuff gets logged (I was told)
The best way really would be to go back to how it was in the old MV. You pick a faction and you can only use that faction until you wipe your MV status, after which you have to wait a good amount of time to get to pick a new faction
