so i'm doing some thinking.. and a simple weapon like the beacon totally negates a major faction ability of the kluth...
how come there isn't a anti-beacon? a "balance" for the beacon?
we can't remove it, we can't even tell if we're beacon'd sometimes, and we can't even see the beacons in combat..
anyhow..
hows about an anti-beacon? a jamming beacon of sorts? when a ship gets hit w/ a jamming beacon, their sensor range goes in the pooper, so that if they hit me w/ 1 beacon, and i hit them w/ 1 jamming beacon, it negates the two..
in addition.. whats w/ the beacon spam? eh? beacons fire so fast, and raise your sig so much per beacon, that i stand out like a christmas tree at 4th of july..
i can dodge 1, 2 beacons, but someone jumped in 100 gu away and threw like 10 of the things into my path of movement, thats like a guaranteed kill, i can't avoid his jump, and he can just spam beacons to his hearts content everywhere i might be moving towards and most likely he'll hit me..
either slow down the beacon movement rate, the fire rate, or make it so we can clean beacons off =/
this "ugto/icc" super weapon has no counter on the k'luth side

ECM forts are sitting ducks in this version though. Plus, it's almost never one beacon. It's usually enough to bring your sig over 100 and sometimes near 200.
And didn't people absolutely hate when Kluth used ECM forts?

Can't PD when you're cloaked. Can't PD fast enough while uncloaking. And a PD frigate will die incredibly fast so it's not gonna be able to defend the fleet from beacons.
In theory it's a good tactic. In practice it just won't work.

Uh. Look at it this way. The beacon is a anti to the cloak. Period. Everything needs a anti, right? Why would we need a anti to a anti? Gets pretty silly, in all honosty. If there was a anti beacon to the beacon, then what would we be able to use as a anti to the cloak?
The only change I think the beacon needs is a out of combat removal.. gadget.

instead of 6 reactors, mount 6 ecm... stick together und become a mobile ecm fort.
thats what we do with agincourts. well.. without the cloack...
