These are values I came up with for reduced prestige loss...take a look...its spurred from the idea of removing resources lost but still having a way to lose prestige through dieing. These are base values that are always the same no matter what.
Essentially thats it, if you lose the ship, this is how much prestige you will lose :
(and a riddle for you all too, try and figure out the formula you math heads)
- Scout : 6 [+5 for SD]
- Frigate : 16 [+10 for SD]
- Destroyer : 24 [+15 for SD]
- Cruiser : 40 [+20 for SD]
- Dreadnought 64 [+35 for SD]
- Assault Dreadnought 104 [+55 for SD]
- Station 168 [+90 for SD]
- Transport 8. [+6 for SD]
- Engineer 8. [+6 for SD]
- Supply 16. [+12 for SD]
Increased SD values that, you lost more prestige, however, your ship would do two-fold damage. Basically, in the hopes of disrupting a fleet, you could SD a ship and hope to take out a few ships as a last ditch effort, but no one could afford to do it again and again.
Make suggestions for this system...

i happen to agree with Ent, Bring back the good ol days were you didnt lose that much res or none at all, and put the res back in prestige form. for instance, i have 12K lost add that back to pres bam im a VA or add back the countless Res lost in Ents profile he'll be a Grandadmiral twice over

For the record, there are those of us who dont agree. I personally think change is good and in the long run make for a better quality game. So theres a few flaws at the moment, doesnt mean you should give up on it.
We remember the past to ensure our future.

Few? I see so...
Losing 200 prestige for a cruiser isnt a problem?
How about for a Frigate?
I lost 70 for a fully modded scout...
1.482 : You would lose 70 for a DREAD...someone see the problem?
Loosing 1k for station : THATS supreme overkill...

The pres loss removal is good, but the rest should stay. DS isn't an arcade game, there needs to be some risk in loosing your ship, which will be the resources of your faction.
Also they should keep pres loss for friendly fire for obvious reasons.

Why not make it so that Every 24 hours you are Allowed 1 of every ship you are Qualified to pilot. If you loose your EAD / AD / Siphon then you gotta wait 24 hrs or 12 hr or 6 hr or 3 hrs untill your allowed to pilot another of that Vessel.

I wholeheartedly agree with Enterprise here
"No more worrying. No more hesitation. 100% crazy ass runnin combat/bombing/supply/capping you name it. It would make the game alot more fun ......
Not just that though, remove modding. Do away with it. Just get in a ship and go, or if keeping modding, KEEP IT SIMPLE.
I dream of thee old schooloage days..bring it back!! "
It was a lot more fun this way

I agree with ents idea on this.
It would help newbie plyers alot more as they wont get like -34 pres from losing a couple of scouts after fighting eachother for half an hour.

I like those numbers. At least far better than current.
I've always been the type that rarely risked my ship. New resource lost penalties has really added to that feeling, adding in the time it takes to mod a ship..
Let's just say if I see a interdictor anymore, I'm not going near it.
Well, with anything bigger than a cruiser, that is.
