Alright guys, I'll admit I've hated beta. Tonight Backslash convinced me to give it one more chance though. It was impressing to say the least. The lag is fixed with a few simple steps of reinstalling and such, and after about an hour of playing you learn the new weapon systems pretty well. Hell I can't wait until the weapons upgrade system is in.
It has come a long way and I definetly recommend you try it for just a weekend. Everyone in there can always offer some help. I can honestly say that I take back most of the crap that I've said. The only downside is that I don't have the money to help fund it. Yeah I know this is outa nowhere but I'm almost done  .
And think of the perks to playing beta, your stats don't change for the normal game  , and you can flux all you want  . The cool part is that if you suck at combat right now, thats not aprob considering everything is different for combat in Beta. It takes a much different approach with the new weapon arcs and such. Anyways...

whats that quote... if you dont vote, you cant complain
spend some quality time with beta, or put the kibosh on ranting about how it doesnt fix X problem
its your opportunity to see that X problem does get a fix,
its your opportunity to make sure its as bug free as possible,
its your opportunity to learn and get a handle on what changes are comming down the road so you dont look like a total noob when .483 gets released
if you are of the opionion that darkspace in its current incarnation isnt worth your subscription money, or isnt even worth staying around for, haul your heiney over to beta and do what you can to make it so darkspace is worth subscribing to, is worth staying around for.
its hard to test all the gameplay mechanics with only a few players...
and ultimatly its your loss if you dont

Beta is also free, no sub required.
Flux is fixed
Lag is fixed
Shipyard bug is fixed
Jump drive bug is semi fixed, need more people to test it.
Shipyards now wont spawn ships when under blockade, need more people to see if this is good instead of making it so ships cant dock when a planet is under blockade...
Theres also a ton of other crap, like new ships, new weapons, a total gameplay overhaul (ship wise, weapon wise, etc...).

You'd have to try pretty hard to get killed by a Dessie in a dread...or just mod all level 0 weapons/armor...
