Howdy,
I was going to add a Privateer badge to the profiles for Ships Captured, but there's too problems:
1. No images.
2. No set numbers on when to get it.
How about a lively public debate on the numbers, as well as an open offer for contribution of images? If anyone wants to make some Privateer badges for us, I'd welcome it. It'll either have to be in the style of the existing badges, or if you use a new style, you'll probably have to redo them all, and such a remake would require Faustinian approval, slowing things down.. so keep that in mind.
Anyway.. have at it. What should our limits be, and make me some images!
Thanks.

I'm thinking something like:
25 - 50 - 100
or
Bronze - 50
Silver - 100
Gold - 250
with whatever numbers you want.
Or am I really confused? What is privateering? Is this one of those "50 captures, 100 bombs, and 613 ships damanged" badges? What's going on?

I say a pirate ship over a backround for the image, and 30-50 for the badge itself...make it pretty hard to get so we can be happy when we get it...

Been thinking about it and...
- Bronze Privateer - 10
- Silver Privateer - 40
- Gold Privateer - 100
Reason For Bronze - Obvious, allows for easy aquireing to those begining at it.
Reason For Silver - Make it challenging, and something you have to half work for to aquire.
Reason For Gold - Simple, its a round 100 and its an achieveable goal that can be acheived. Though takes time.

I was thinking along the lines of making it be tough, some numbers that are hard to get, and something that no one has yet. As of this posting, I believe there are 2 people with 100+ ships captured. At first, I was turned off to the idea of them already having Gold, but the more I though about it, the more it makes sense: the other badges arent meant to be something unattainable, and neither should this. I believe 25-50-100 would make the most sense, and also perhaps add them as prerequisites for some ships in the future? (say a station or jump cruiser or something fun...)

The server already tells you when you get the badges at 25 50 and 100.
The gold took forever to get and whenever anyone saw me coming they ran away to get troops
Nimala overtook me about a week ago and between now and then I have had no capps. So to capp 50 ships (1 capp = 2 points) could take a year.
Hope that helps shig

I would think that Players Catured would fall in line with Planets Captured & follow along that scale (Bronze @ 25, Silver @ 50, Gold @ 100). In some ways its even harder than transport 'cause you can always go into newbie when no ones around and cap the entire map, leave for 2 minutes & cap it from another faction for an easy 10-20 points.
I agree that it should fall in line for some sort of badge... see if Tael feels like adding a new ship to each faction - the Mini-Jumper, based on a Dread hull, 2ra rank, gold Privateer - with the WH device that is currently in the ICC JC.... just a thought

There are numbers already. I got bronze at 25, silver at 50, and looking for gold at 100.....That is ALREADY in there.

10
25
50
(bear in mind that if someone is carrying inf capping another ship can be quite hard)

Well since this badge would be used for prestige *as i dont see any benefits from it YET * i think a little higher bar would suffice
Bronze - 100
Silver - 250
Gold - 500
Might be high but hey gives us something to do when we have all others

I'm just thinking of how hard it can be to cap a ship though...

I've seen the badge awarded to a few, and I understand it to be 25-50-100.
As far as what image: Jolly Roger Skull&Cross bones Bronze Silver and gold.
