Why do some people think that a more restrictive game is a better and more fun game?

I was watching the lobby and it seems some people want a more open game when it comes to weapon selection, ship speed and modding.

Yet there are others who want the game so restricted that you might as well remove all modding from the game and everyone just fly stock ships. Also these same people want rules for everything made so you can't do anything without breaking the RoC.

Now I didn't put what I think on this subject as I would like to see others reply without attacks, insults etc... and maybe it might show the powers that be the direction USERS would like to see the game go.

The first thing i have to say is that i respect your point about this. So dont get rude about it.

First im woundering what does the RoC and modding ur ship has in comon, modding ur ship does not have any restriction. Everything that you can modd in weapory or hull, is totally accepted by the RoC, because if it woulnd, you couldnt modd it. Then most ppl are for a fun game with restriction, but not about the way you modd your ship but how you abuse of it weapory or chat language...

It is fun to have a good fun game, but think that is good to keep balance on your abilies, else it wouldnt be fair. The only thing i would sugest is on the flux... thats the only weapon that should be watch and restricted...

People have a right to voice their opinions on what they would LIKE to see in the game - and they have different opinions.

You know what they say about opinions though...

Where as open-moding allows any combo of tricks to be pulled from the sleve, it edventualy just becomes a case of "I have an uber ship" and it becomes something it was never meant to be used as, or designed for. With restrictive moding, it becomes easier to balance the game and stick that ship to what it was designed to do.
