Suggestion concerning rank |

Hi, I just thought it would be cool to have a picture of your rank in your profile along with badges you have received, I think it would add a little more life to the game. Also maybe the rank should look different for the different factions if you are in a fleet (maybe badges should look different too, Im sure K'luth rank and badges wouldnt look like the humans). Anyway, let me know what you guys think and if its a good idea or not.

Theres already text, perhaps when someone gets bored they will spice up the website a bit.

yes and no...
plain text looks good, it fits in well....but a nice image does add a bit to the website, but ... its pointless, the profile isnt the game, and people care more about the game than the website (or should do)

I agree that people should care more about the game than the profile or site (which its hard to tell with most people lobby camping or worried about other things than playing in the MV) but eyecandy can be good sometimes. I mean we have the badges that you work hard for just looks like we should be able to see the insignia we work hard for too. If I didnt like playing so much in my spare time I may try to come up with a few example insignia which shouldnt be too hard to do... something similar to ranks already used by the military for example; stripes, bars, leaves, stars, etc.

nah, a little banner beside our name showing rank would be better (in game/lobby) like little badges.

Dunno why I haven't seen this suggested sooner - I think its a fun idea! If they're unsubbed they get that annoyig little red x =P
But, before they do this... could they fix the IG badges & make the changes to the site profile badges so each catagory has a proper gold & silver badge? Yeah

I was thinking more actual Navy Rank Insignia - captains bars & admiral's stars and all that.

Yeah, I was thinking some actual insignia or something similar too, although you could make the text a little better looking too like youve done with the above example. Ill think about this at work today, see if I cant come up with something. If anyone else has any ideas please bring em on

These arnt amazing but...they are insignia..
Palestar can use them if they want, I'll do the rest later just for users to stick somewhere if they want too.....
I'll also chop the size down a bit..but later

Maybe try this:
Midshipman - 1 Silver Star
Ensign - 2 Silver Stars
2nd Lt - 3 Silver Stars
1st Lt - 3 Silver Stars on top of a Gold or Silver Bar / 1 Gold Star
Lt Commander - 4 Silver Stars on top of Gold or Silver Bar / 2 Gold Stars
Commander - 5 Silver Stars on top of a Gold or Silver Bar / 3 Gold Stars
Captain - 1 Blue Star
2nd Rear Admiral - 2 Blue Stars
1st Rear Admiral - 3 Blue Stars
Vice Admiral - 3 Blue Stars on top of Silver Bar
Admiral - 4 Blue Stars on top of Silver Bar
Fleet Admiral - 5 Blue Stars on top of Silver Bar
Grand Admiral 5 Stars, 4 Blue and 1 Gold with Gold being bigger and centered on top of Silver Bar with 2 Blue Stars on either side
Of course these are just suggestions and the colors can be played with, but you get the idea.

unfortunatly, as making these a GIF or PNG messes up the colours, I cannot use those.
I think daze that green for sorta noob colours and blue for the for the first sign of "leetness" is good. Too many colours just makes it silly.
