I played Darkspace about two years ago(and actually am quite upset I had to re-register, it means I can't subscribe again and get my prestige etc. back), and had to quit for a variety of reasons.
I'm pretty poor at the moment, so it's unlikely I can re-subscribe again, but I'd like to know what all has changed since I left, since I'm trying to get games worth playing back on my radar for when I have more money to spare.

Well thing is... there is plenty new and soon there will be even more new goodness since a major update is now in Beta... Also if you want to still play you can... I agree it sucks to loos all your pres and such... but all you have to due is log into MV once a month and it (the server) realizes you are still alive (Someone correct me if I was wrong there). Also you can play in Newbie Server or if I am not mistaken you can also play in MV when you are unsubbed.. You just cannot have any ship that would not be available to a Midshipman... And a very important thing.... Validate your email as soon as possible... for some reason I am not aware of yet the game really doen't like it when email is not validated.... otherwise enjoy till you can resub...

you only have to log onto the website at least once a month (possibly longer?) to keep your account working.
but yeah MV server is now open to everyone if ya want to have a look at what its like now, and newbie server is open as always

its once a year if im not mistaken.
Also on the note of whats new.... Tons.
and there will be even more when 483 comes out. So, get your email validated, then only play beta and find the bugs. cause why bother learning 482 and then having to learn 483 as well? why not kill 2 birds with one stone.
