The only small missiles in DS are the fighter-mounted ones, and they are a lot more accurate against dessy than the others.
Also this is all going on, yet again, before we have a chance to try out the lvl8 IT/AR/psi/PCM (and lvl8 fighters).

I agree... there are, or should be concidered as, three seperate lvls of missiles...
You have your really small fighter sized missiles that, idividually do not have much power, in packs can cause serious damage....
The you have your ship based missiles that well, are good against ships....
then you have planet based missiles.... If ANY missile should be uber then it should be them... Why? To be launched from a planets gravity well AND catch up and detonate on a ship makes those missiles lauched from def bases rather big... they should have a large warhead, smaller seeker unit and shorter range OR small warhead, excellent targeting unit and a whole lotta range....
Now I am trying, when I actually have time, to look over the whole "Missile Issue"™ and see what can be done.... I am not trying to thow this idea in this patch.. this is more for later content... just something to make it more interesting...

I think I've finally figured out why massive ships can only hold a tiny amount of ammo.
The main reason for making bigger ships is not for more guns, more ammo, or to be a greater threat in battle, but to carry more tourists to watch things go explodey-boom!
Woe betide the tourists when K'luth start using them for ammo...

At the risk of not reading the entire thread and repeating something.
Why not have multiple levels of missiles - some that are lower damage but quite good at hitting smaller ships...and then larger/harder to hit with ones for cruisers/dreads/stations.
