I mentioned this in the other thread on cloak ramming, however on closer inspection it looks even starker for my poor ad.

It is actually far less powerful than the picket and gunboat dessy, while having higher rank/badge requirements

both the picket and gunboat have 8 armour, ad 7 with weak aft.
both the picket and gunboat have superior arcs.
ad has 8 standard mounts, to the gunboat's 8 and picket's 12

All the ad has is an extra torp over the gunboat. however, with a fore/left and fore/right, gunboat has better effective coverage. 1 each to left right and 2 fore, to the ad's 1 left, 1 right, 1 fore.

The common idea with the assault ships seems to have been weak aft, and fore-focused arcs but made up with superior firepower. Would be nice to see this continued with the ad. The terrible torp arcs really let it down.

How about improving the torp arcs. something like fore/left/right, fore/left, fore/right. Gives it 3 fore torps, 2 left/right as it should be - one step up from the gunboat 2 fore, 1 left/right.

Can you tell I like my dessies?

Might even be worth adding a couple fore standard mounts. It is supposed to be to the gunboat what the EAD is to the BD.

i to find some of the arcs/number of wepons and requierment a bit off... but i dont think they are done changeing the requierments just yet... last i saw the gang required the gold support but it nolonger has the reloads...

prob just over looked for now while they put in the content

So what's happening with this poor dessy? It's got nothing over the gunboat, though higher requirements. It can hardly be called reasonable.

I agree, the UGTO Assualt Dessy needs some help, as does the K'luth Clavate (MUCH higher requirements and a bigger target for less inf space and less bomb?) and I'll bet there's a ship similar to these on ICC...

Being a Assault Dessie pilot myself I tend to agree. The AD is nothing like it was. I don't think I'll be flying it much in the this new version:(

ICC Command Carrier just isnt... useful... The only thing about it is that you can switch the build for a reload, which suddenly makes it too uber.

But why the PCMs? I dont expect to go head-on with Dreadnoughts. We already have Missile Dreadnought.

Why the Bombs? We have a Bomber Dread for this.

Id much rather remove the redundant bombs and PCMs and add some additional railguns, light beams, and light missiles to allow me to deal with fast nimble targets as I fight long-range targets.

Red i agree with this remove the worthless thing and add something that will be useful. Some light beams for fighter and missle defence and more long range weapons.
